Auction Basics

In response to increasing demand from prospective buyers and sellers of shares of publicly- registered, unlisted REITs, CTT has created an on-line auction to facilitate the resale of shares of unlisted REITs. In order to participate, prospective buyers, sellers, and their representatives, as applicable, are first required to register with CTT. CTT’s auctions are designed with the end user in mind, and we have worked hard to make them transparent, simple, and easy to use. Through CTT’s bid history and strategic relationships with Robert A. Stanger & Co. and the Direct Investment Spectrum, users of CTT’s auctions are able to make an educated decision with respect to the transaction price of specific shares of an unlisted REIT.

Auctions vary in duration, and may occur in 5, 10, 15, or 30 day increments. Similar to other online auctions for non-securities products, each seller will present their shares of an unlisted REIT for sale in a separate auction, and each auction will conclude at a separate time. After the conclusion of each auction, the prospective buyer with the highest bid acceptable to the seller will be notified that that the bid has been accepted by the seller and the transfer process has been initiated.
