Market History

Over the past several years, there have been significant equity investments made in unlisted REITs. Industry participants estimate that from 2001 through 2009, more than $60 Billion of equity was raised through offerings of shares of unlisted REITs. In 2010, even though the velocity with which equity has been raised through unlisted REITs is slower than it has been in prior years, industry participants estimate that the market is on pace to raise approximately $7 Billion of equity through unlisted this year.
